Review for Aquaponics 4 You – Learn How to Build Your Own Aquaponics System

Hello!

I have been researching Aquaponics and for the DIY people out there I found a great Step-By-Step How to Build Your Own Aquaponics System on how to create your own Aquaponics System.   Can you imagine a garden that never needs weeding, or soil, no tilling or no adding of fertilizer or compost, no more mixing manure to the soil (yuck!) or irrigating, and no longer need big gardening equipment.  Here is the system for you!

About Aquaponics

This new way of gardening is absolutely changing the way of gardening. This way of gardening is easy and you can do this from the comfort of your easy chair in the backyard with a cool cocktail.   The plants will grow twice as fast and you can grow up to ten times more in the same area of space as the regular garden.

The process is awesome because with this system the plants grow 100% to 50% faster, and you can grow up to 10 times the plants in the same amount of space.  How does it work? This turns normal gardening to organic super-drive as it feeds rich and live natural nutrients to your plants 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Aquaponics is the combination of hydroponics with aqua-culture. You can do this fairly inexpensive and build a small home system or go big and build a commercial type system, however you would like!

  1. What a fascinating and promising subject. I am sure there will be a lot of research going on in this area as this has to be a key component in helping feed humanity in the years to come. I could see there would be advantages to combining solar panels with an aquaponics installation as I think certain temperatures have to be maintained in order for the fish to thrive. So I would think much will depend on where you live – I am thinking about outdoor installations here. I am curious to know, have you installed an aquaponic system on your land somewhere and if so what have you been able to grow? Best regards, Andy

    • Hi Andy,

Thank you for your comments.  Unfortunately, I don’t have an aquaponics system.  I live in the north and I would need it to be outside and I would have to keep it warm.  I see it as a very costly endeavor for me.  If I lived in the south I would definitely have one.  The ebook that I reviewed shows you how to DIY it.

      • Hi Chris
Thanks for the answer. We also live in the North. These last few weeks I’ve been shoveling snow. We still have about 12 inches or more of snow on the ground outside and it gets down into the teens F overnight. So it sounds like aquaponics would be a costly proposition here as well. A fascinating subject though.
        Best regards
        Andy

        • Hi Andy,
Yes, I don’t really see it as a feasible option in the north, it would be too costly to keep heated in the winter. I would definitely do it in the south. Please stop by for more gardening tips.

  2. Hey there Chris. I like your style of writing. Cool and casual and attractive.
I myself do above ground gardening. We live in the country on quite steep slopes so setting up any water system would be tricky but I agree aquaponics looks attractive. What sort of fish are recommended?

As for heating for you guys, you could try the old fashioned way of fireplaces with wetbacks. But that would put you back in the quite expensive bracket.

Down here in Tasmania we have headquarters for Antarctic activities. There they do have pipe systems but install an electricity carrying tape along the external top of the pipes. That stops them from freezing. Another expense but nowhere as much as down there unless you have huge ponds.

Thanks for posting this review. See you around.

    Ciao

    • Thank you for your comment. I have to agree there are some challenges from it.  I think you could use any type of fish.  I think tilapia was one recommended.  At least if you raised the tilapia in your aquaponics, you would know what they are eating.  They recommend not eating farm raised fish but if it’s your farm that would be a different story.  This is more for a warmer climate and commercial gardening right now.  Stop back for more gardening tips!
